Tool@rrest Tether Tail Stainless D-Ring
Using the Tool@rrest Adhesive Self-Amalgamating Silicone Tape, this Tool@rrest Tether Tail Stainless D-Ring can be safely and securely attached to hand tools like hammers, screwdrivers and wrenches. The sturdy steel D ring can then be easily attached to a belt, harness or a structure with a carabiner. Together, they give you quick and convenient access to your tools while working from heights, while greatly reducing the risk of dropping accidents.
What's Included?
What is the Maximum Safe Working Load of the Tether?
The Tool@rrest Tether is graded for a safe working load up to 2.5kg.
What Kind of Tools is the Tether Designed For?
The Tether is designed to be used with the Tool@rrest Adhesive Self-Amalgamating Silicone Tape, as you can see in the picture below. The polyester fabric part of the tether can be secured to hand tools like wrenches, screwdrivers and hammers, why the D ring hangs over the end of the tool, ready to be secured to a lanyard or structure with a carabiner.
How Does the Tool@rrest Tool Tether Work?
How you use the Tool@rrest depends on your particular drop prevention scenario and the tool you are using, but here is how to secure a tool like a hammer to a tether (such as this D-ring tether) or lanyard.
- Weigh the tool you want to attach, make sure it is under the safe working load of both the tether and the tape (2.5kg)
- Use a tape measure and knife to cut a 50cm length of the Tool@rrest Silicone Tape
- Remove the plastic film from the back of the tape
- Lay the Tool@rrest Tether Tail on top of the hammer or another tool, with the D ring poking over the bottom of the tool
- Wrap the tape tightly and evenly around the tool and tether, moving downwards
- Use the hanging D ring with a carabiner to secure the tool to a lanyard, harness, scaffolding or other structure
