Portwest FR72 Modaflame FR Anti-Static High-Vis Jumper
The Portwest FR72 Modaflame FR Anti-Static High-Vis Jumper is made from an inherently flame resistant material which, thanks to the carbon content, prevents static from building up and protects the wearer from electrostatic discharge. The jumper is extremely comfortable thanks to the cotton percentage of the fabric and ribbed cuffs and hem.
What Can the Anti-Static High-Vis Jumper Do to Help Me?
The sweatshirt has several helpful features:
- Anti-Static: The sweater is inherently anti-static, the carbon content preventing a build up of static
- Highly Visible: Sew on flame resistant reflective tape helps to qualify this jumper as highly visible
- Flame Resistant: The jumper protects against radiant, convective and contact heat, as well as arc flashes
- Comfortable: Ribbed cuff and hem for snug fit and high cotton content for a comfortable wear
The jumper is made from Modaflame, the modacrylic fibres providing inherent flame resistance that will not diminish with washing. The high cotton content gives the fabric comfort and warmth as well as making it soft to the touch.
Who Can Use the Portwest Anti-Static Jumper?
The Portwest sweatshirt is ideal for environments like petrochemical refineries and factories where electrostatic discharge is a possibility. As the jumper also qualifies as highly visible and flame resistant, it is suitable for many multi-hazard industrial environments.
Which Size Is Right for Me?

What Certifications Does the Portwest FR Anti-Static High-Vis Jumper Receive?
The Portwest flame resistant sweater has been thoroughly tested so that you can be totally certain of your safety at work.
- EN 11612:
- A1: Limited flame spread
- B1: Convective heat (scale 1-3)
- C1: Radiant heat (scale 1 - 4)
- F1: Contact heat (scale 1 - 3)
- EN 1149:
- 5: Protects against electrostatic discharge in case of an explosion
- EN ISO 20471:
- IEC 61482
- ASTM F1959/F1959M-12 ATPV = 16 Cal/CM² (HAF = 86%)
- ELIM testing in progress
What Do These Certifications Mean?
- EN 11612: This standard determines whether a garment offers protection against heat and flames, and whether this protection extends to convective, radiant or contact heat
- EN 1149-5: This standard demonstrates whether a garment protects against electrostatic discharge in environments such as petrochemical refineries where there is a risk of explosion
- EN ISO 20471: This standard certifies whether an item of clothing is capable of visually signalling the user's presence, and assesses the durability of the high-vis qualities of the garment
- IEC 61482: This standard indicates the garment's ability to provide protection against the thermal hazards of an electrical arc
- ASTM F1959: This standard determines the arc rating of a garment, which is the amount of energy needed to pass through the fabric to cause a second or third degree burn
The jumper has inherent anti-static and flame resistant properties, offering protection against radiant, convective and contact heat as well as electrostatic discharge. The sweatshirt is also certified as highly visible, and serves as an adequate shield from arc flashes.
