What Do Cut-Resistant Boots Do?
Cut-resistant safety boots are modified with protective features to reduce the risk of injury caused by cuts. While the industry standard requires the upper material to have a resistance of more than index 2.5, the B0891 boots have an anti-cut level of 5 for extra protection.
Why Do I Need Insulation?
Working in cold conditions can be hard on the feet. By trapping the air molecules, the insulation is able to block out the entrance of the cold outside air, also preventing heat from escaping the inside of the boots, keeping your feet nice and warm.
Keep Your Feet Safe From Extreme Temperatures
Capable of withstanding extreme temperatures reaching up to 300°C for 1 minute, the B0891 boots provide crucial and immediate protection against unexpected exposure to heat. They also provide insulation of up to 150°C and prevent the feet from getting too hot. At the same time, these boots keep the feet warm and prevent frost bite in temperatures as low as -17°C.
Why Do I Need Anti-Static Footwear?
When you're working with and around machinery and devices, there's always the possibility of build-up of static electricity which can be dangerous. Footwear with anti-static capabilities effectively channels static electricity away from your body, directing it safely through the shoe's inner sole, lining, and outer sole into the earth.
Why Do I Need Hydrocarbon Resistance?
Hydrocarbons are organic compounds comprised solely of hydrogen and carbon atoms. Shoes that are resistant to hydrocarbons offer essential protection when you're working with or around chemicals. Such footwear guards against the risks of skin irritations, allergic reactions, infections, and chemical burns, particularly when chemical leaks or spills occur.
How Do I Keep My Portwest Base Boots Clean?
Increase the life of your Portwest Base boots by taking good care of them. Use only soft brushes and water. Do not use substances such as alcohol, thinners, gasoline, oil or any other chemicals. Keep the footwear, dry and clean, in a proper place at room temperature.
