MaxiDry Zero Fully Coated Thermal Insulating Gloves 56-451

The MaxiDry Zero Fully Coated Thermal Insulating Gloves 56-451 are designed for high-risk versatility, with exceptional resistance provided against water, cold, heat, abrasion and tears. They also offer resistance to food and offer a high level of grip and flexibility, which makes them perfect for work as wide ranging as freezer and cold store work, deep sea fishing, construction, mechanics, warehousing, gardening and utilities.

Where Can I Use the MaxiDry Zero Gloves?

The MaxiDry Zero Gloves have been designed with extremes in mind. Resistance to the cold, water, oil, and heat, and a medium-to-high level of mechanical resistance against abrasion, tears, cuts and punctures make the gloves extremely versatile. Their suitability for use with food only adds to their versatility, meaning that they excel in freezer work in particular.

They aren't limited to this however, and are well suited to a wide range of different applications and tasks that require a bit of warmth, flexibility and mechanical protection. Some tasks that we would recommend these gloves for include:

What Will the MaxiDry Zero Gloves Protect Me From?

These gloves are the ultimate cold and wet weather gloves, however they protect the hands from far more than just bad weather. They are designed to protect your hands against:

  • Cold temperatures (-30°C)
  • Contact heat (100°C)
  • Oil
  • Abrasions
  • Tears
  • Water
  • Food contamination

The gloves are fully certified, meaning that they have been tested to everything that they say they can resist. For specific details on their regulatory scores, please see the EN paragraph further down the page.

How Much Water Can the MaxiDry Thermal Gloves Withstand?

If you placed these gloves up to the knitwrist in a bucket of water, then your hands would not get wet. While this doesn't include the knitwrist, the nitrile full coating that covers the entire hand is designed to prevent water from entering the gloves. This is ideal for most wet conditions; including work in wet weather, work at sea, and work handling damp and wet items.

How Much Cold Can the MaxiDry Gloves Withstand?

The MaxiDry Gloves are designed for use in extremely cold conditions. They will continue to retain their high level of flexibility in conditions that go as low as -10°C, and will continue to lose a little flexibility as conditions drop as low as -30°C. They will still keep your hands warm even in conditions this low, providing useful for extremely cold weather,

What EN Scores Do the MaxiDry Zero Thermal Gloves Receive?

The MaxiDry Zero Gloves have been tested to a range of different standards to ensure a high quality of performance. They have been tested to three different standards, each describing their level of protection against different risks. The scores that they received are as follows:

EN 388

Hazard Level of Resistance
Abrasion Resistance Level 4
Cut Resistance Level 2
Tear Resistance Level 3
Puncture Resistance Level 2

EN 407

Hazard Level of Resistance
Burning Behaviour N/A
Contact Heat Level 1
Convective Heat N/A
Radiant Heat N/A
Small Splashes of Molten Metal N/A
Large Splashes of Molten Metal N/A

EN 511

Hazard Level of Resistance
Convective Cold Resistance Level 1
Contact Cold Resistance Level 1
Water Permeability Level 1

What Do These EN Scores Actually Mean?

EN 388 is designed to measure resistance to mechanical threats, EN 407 is designed to measure a glove's resistance to heat, and EN 511 is designed to measure a glove's resistance to the cold. To begin, the MaxiDry's EN 388 score means that they offer exceptional resistance to abrasion and tears, while their resistance to cuts and punctures is still at a high level. Their EN 407 scores mean that the gloves can protect your hands for up to 15 seconds when in contact with temperatures of over 100°C.

Finally, their EN 511 scores mean that the gloves are fully waterproof, will protect the hands when holding an item that is at around -10°C, and offer excellent resistance in cold conditions. For EN 388 and EN 407 the maximum level achieved is level 4, for convective cold and contact cold resistance it is level 3, and for water permeability it is level 1.

Can I Use the MaxiDry Zero Insulating Gloves with Food?

How Grippy Are the MaxiDry Zero Fully Coated Gloves?

They are designed with a nitrile coating that is textured with micro-foam and a non-slip grip, something that extends to the knitwrist and provides grip even in the oily, wet and icy conditions. This textured coating enables items to stick to your palms, helping to reduce the chances of dropping items when conditions are hazardous.

How Comfortable Are the MaxiDry Zero Fully Coated Gloves?

Featuring a comfortable inner nylon and acrylic blend liner, these gloves are extremely comfortable to wear. They are quite snug, but an artificial lining remains soft around your hand which is ideal for extended use when the conditions are less comfortable. This soft inner liner keeps you warm too, perfect for use at work.

Are the MaxiDry Zero Gloves Tight to Wear?

The MaxiDry Gloves are a little tight to wear, as this is to ensure that your hands retain warmth and that no cold air enters the gloves. However, this has the impact of making the gloves harder to don if the conditions are more extreme. As a result of this, we would recommend buying the size up if you are concerned that the gloves maybe too snug.

How Lightweight Are the MaxiDry Fully Coated Gloves?

Designed for manual work throughout a long day, the MaxyDry Gloves are extremely lightweight in order to try and reduce hand fatigue. These gloves are designed primarily using acrylic and nylon, fitting snugly around the hand without being a burden. This is particularly ideal for long work in high risk conditions.

Why Are the MaxiDry Gloves Friendly to My Skin?

The MaxiDry Zero Gloves are designed to be friendly to the skin, using a substance called 'HandCare' to ensure that the chances of skin irritation are reduced. They are dermatologically tested to ensure skin health, while their sanitised design passed the Oeko-Tex gold standard meaning that it is industry recognised as been good for the skin.

What Are the MaxiDry Zero Gloves Made From?

The MaxiDry Gloves are designed using skin friendly materials. Their construction includes:

  • Nitrile Butadiene Rubber
  • Nylon
  • Acrylic
  • Latex and silicone free

Can I Wash My MaxiDry Thermal Gloves?

Working in dirty and wet conditions may make your gloves dirty, meaning that from time to time you might want to wash your gloves. We recommend that you wash your MaxiDry Gloves no more than three times on a 40°C heat without using cleaning solutions. Washing your gloves may impact the overall performance of the gloves.
