JSP Bushmaster Ear Defenders with Wire Gauze Visor

The JSP Bushmaster Ear Defenders with Wire Gauze Visor combine the protective capabilities of ear defenders with an SNR of 30 and a visor certified as offering impact protection under EN 1731. The Bushmaster has been designed by JSP's research and development department to function optimally as forestry PPE. 

What Can the Bushmaster Do for Me?

The Bushmaster has several useful features. These include:

• Noise Protection: Classic ear defenders offer an SNR of 30, suitable for handling high levels of industrial noise
• Impact Protection: The 20cm visor protects face from particles travelling at 12m/s
• Comfortable: Soft foam pads and cushions for ultimate wearer comfort

Who Can Use the Bushmaster?

The Bushmaster is a forestry unit designed to protect the wearer from both the noise and flying debris often encountered while performing forestry tasks. The SNR of 30 illustrates that the Bushmaster can handle extreme levels of industrial noise, such as chainsaws and excavation equipment.

Please note that the Bushmaster is not suitable for settings in which a safety helmet is required. 

What Is SNR?

SNR stands for simplified noise reduction, and can be used to compare the different level of noise attenuation offered by hearing protectors. To establish the acoustic pressure on your ears from a hazard subtract the SNR value from the average noise level measured. To avoid hearing damage this number must not go above 87dB.

What Certifications Has the Bushmaster Received?

The Bushmaster has undergone a variety of tests so you can be sure of your safety at work. It has achieved the following certifications:

What Do These Certifications Mean?

• EN 352: This standard specifies the requirements for ear defenders or ear plugs offering protection from excessive noises
• EN 1731: This standard refers to the material specifications, performance and design for eye and face mesh protectors

The materials, inner leakage, minimum attenuation and several other factors of the Bushmaster have been assessed and found to conform with the requirements for hearing protection. The SNR rating of 30 illustrates that they are suitable for use in high risk environments. The robust visor of the Bushmaster offers impact protection for face and eyes from particles travelling at 12m/s.
